How to sign “Tired” in BSL

Feelings & Health

BSL and ASL are different languages — this is the British sign. See the ASL sign for “Tired” instead

Step by step

  1. Place both hands in closed flat shapes on your chest, thumbs touching the chest.
  2. Twist both hands downward until the palms rest flat against your chest.
  3. Let your shoulders and head droop slightly with a weary expression.

Practice tip

Exaggerate the droop of the shoulders — the sinking body language is what makes 'tired' readable.
