How to sign “Doctor” in ASL

The BSL sign for “Doctor” isn't in our dictionary yet — it will be fingerspelled in BSL mode, never replaced with this ASL sign.

Step by step

  1. Hold your non-dominant hand out, palm up.
  2. Tap the fingertips of your bent dominant hand twice on the inside of your wrist.

Practice tip

From a doctor checking your pulse. An older initialized variant taps a D handshape instead.
