How to sign “Yes” in BSL

Everyday Basics

BSL and ASL are different languages — this is the British sign. See the ASL sign for “Yes” instead

Step by step

  1. Close your hand into a fist.
  2. Nod the fist up and down, like a head nodding.
  3. Repeat the nodding motion a couple of times.

Practice tip

Pair the fist nod with an affirmative facial expression.
