How to sign “Like” in BSL

Everyday Basics

BSL and ASL are different languages — this is the British sign. See the ASL sign for “Like” instead

Step by step

  1. Hold your dominant hand flat with fingers together, thumb folded across (a closed flat hand).
  2. Tap your chest with it once or twice.

Practice tip

Mouth the English word 'like' silently as you tap — mouthing is normal and expected in BSL.
