How to sign “I love you” in BSL
BSL and ASL are different languages — this is the British sign. See the ASL sign for “I love you” instead
Step by step
- Point to yourself over your heart to sign 'I'.
- Flatten both hands and cross them gently over your chest, as if pressing something into your heart, to sign 'love'.
- Point at the other person to sign 'you'.
Practice tip
Sign the three parts as one smooth, flowing sequence with a warm expression.
